From several state's awarding Medicaid contracts to agreements with providers over in-network rates, these are 10 recently inked contracts with payers reported by Becker's since Aug. 5:
- CMS chose Maximus Federal Services Sept. 1 for a $6.6 billion contract to operate Medicare and ACA plan customer service centers nationwide for up to 10 years.|
- Iowa said Aug. 31 it intends to award four-year Medicaid managed care contracts to Elevance Health's Amerigroup Iowa and Molina Healthcare of Iowa. The two payers join Centene's Iowa Total Care, which holds a contract through 2025, to help manage the state's $7 billion program that serves 790,000 Iowans.
- Louisiana said Aug. 30 it intends to contract with Centene's Magellan to administer pharmacy benefits for the state's Medicaid program.
- California selected Molina Healthcare, Anthem Blue Cross Partnership Plan and Centene subsidiary Health Net Aug. 25 for managed care contracts from Jan. 1, 2024 to 2028.
- Empire BlueCross BlueShield and Northwell Health signed a multiyear, value-based agreement Aug. 18 to maintain access for more than 4 million Empire members.
- Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Maine and MaineHealth reached an agreement Aug. 17 to keep Maine Medical Center in Portland, the state's largest hospital, in network for the next two years.
- UnitedHealthcare and Oklahoma City-based OU Health reached an in-network contract agreement Aug. 12.
- Anthem Blue Cross of California and Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health reached a deal on an in-network contract Aug. 12.
- Mississippi selected Molina Healthcare, TrueCare and Centene's Magnolia Health Plan Aug. 10 to administer the state's Medicaid and CHIP programs.
- MaineHealth will switch from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Maine to Aetna for its employee health plan carrier starting in 2023. The Portland-based health system has about 22,000 employees.
