OU Health, UnitedHealthcare reach contract agreement

Oklahoma City-based OU Health is back in network with UnitedHealthcare after the two sides reached an agreement Aug. 12.

Oklahoma City-based OU Health went out of network with UnitedHealthcare on May 1 amid a disagreement over reimbursement rates, but negotiations continued.

The agreement reinstates services that were terminated May 1, according to an Aug. 13 OU Health news release. UnitedHealthcare has agreed to retroactively process the out-of-network claims as in-network claims.

"With so many of our services not available anywhere else in the state, we are so pleased to be able to continue to care for our UHC-insured patients, so they can continue to receive services like cancer treatment or comprehensive children's care," OU Health President and CEO Richard Lofgren, MD, said in the news release.
