CMS selects Maximus for $6.6B insurance customer service contract

CMS has chosen Maximus Federal Services for a $6.6 billion contract to operate Medicare and ACA plan customer service centers nationwide. 

The contract is for one year to start, with up to nine potential additional years. The centers offer 24/7 customer contact channels to 35 million people annually through phone, mail, email,  TDD/TYY, fax and web chat, according to a Sept. 1 news release.

Tysons, Va.-based Maximus has supported CMS contact centers for more than 10 years and has been the main insurance centers operator since 2018.

The CMS contact centers are located in Phoenix; Bogalusa, La.; Brownsville, Texas; Chester, Va.; Hattiesburg, Miss.; Lawrence, Kan.; London and Westchester, Ky. and Lynn Haven and Tampa, Fla.
