Mississippi awards 3 Medicaid contracts

Molina Healthcare, TrueCare and Magnolia Health Plan have been selected by the Mississippi Department of Medicaid to serve beneficiaries of the state's coordinated care program, MississippiCAN, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program

Five organizations submitted bids, and the awardees were chosen after an extensive evaluation of their qualifications, according to an Aug. 10 Mississippi Division of Medicaid news release.

Magnolia Health Plan is a subsidiary of Centene. TrueCare is owned by over 60 providers throughout Mississippi. It formed a partnership in December with Dayton, Ohio-based managed care organization CareSource that they said would allow the parties to better support Mississippi Medicaid beneficiaries.

Award protests, which are common in managed care procurements, may still be filed, according to the news release.
