8 recent payer partnerships

Payers are adding new solutions for home health, diabetes and specialty drugs. 

Here are eight partnerships Becker's has reported since Jan. 23. 

  1. Health Alliance Plan and CareSource are forming a new joint venture to create a combined Medicaid plan and ACA exchange offerings.

  2. BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and Amedisys, a home health and hospice care company, are partnering to provide palliative care to BCBS members.

  1. Oscar Health will provide administrative services to Miami-based Associated Medical Care, the first partnership for the company's +Oscar Campaign Builder tool.  

  1. Blue Shield of California expanded its partnership with digital diabetes reversal program Virta Health. 

  1. Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina is sponsoring an insurance pre-licensing academy at Robeson College in Lumberton, N.C., as part of the payer's efforts to create a more diverse workforce in the insurance industry. 

  1. Winchester, Va.-based Valley Health joined as an owner of Peak Health, a health plan launched by Morgantown-based West Virginia University Medicine. 

  1. Independence Blue Cross launched a network to manage the cost and outcomes of gene-based therapies with Philadelphia-based Penn Medicine and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. 

  2. CVS Accountable Care Organization and Chicago-based Rush University System for Health are collaborating on ACO REACH participation for Medicare members in the Chicago area.
