UnitedHealth Group disclosed in an Aug. 12 regulatory filing it has acquired KS Plan Administrators, a Medicare insurer in Houston. KS Plan Administrators is affiliated with Kelsey-Seybold, a Houston-based medical group that has reportedly been acquired by UnitedHealth for about $2 billion.
- Humana said Aug. 12 it is planning to purchase Inclusa, a Stevens Point, Wis.-based managed care organization, for an undisclosed amount.
- Health Care Service Corp. said Aug. 11 it has signed an agreement to purchase Lake Forest, Ill.-based Trustmark Health Benefits from employee benefits firm Trustmark for an undisclosed amount.
- Humana became an equity partner of Villanova, Pa.-based Delaware Valley Accountable Care Organization in July. The ACO started as a joint venture between providers Main Line Health, based in Radnor Township, and Jefferson Health, based in Philadelphia.
- Molina Healthcare said in July it plans to purchase Medicaid managed care organization My Choice Wisconsin for $150 million.
- UnitedHealth Group’s Optum received acquisition approval from LHC Group shareholders in June. The $5.4 billion deal is expected to close later this year.
- SCAN Group acquired the Residentialist Group in May, a Laguna Hills, Calif.-based provider of in-home clinical services to older adults. SCAN will merge TRG with its existing in-home care program, HealthCHEC, to form Homebase Medical for health plan policyholders.
