Here are nine contract updates Becker's has reported since Sept. 7.
- Florida Blue reached an agreement Sept. 28 with BayCare, days before the contract between the two organizations was set to expire. Around 85,000 Florida Blue members regularly use BayCare services.
- Nebraska selected Molina Healthcare of Nebraska, Centene subsidiary Nebraska Total Care and UnitedHealthcare of the Midlands to administer the state's Medicaid managed care program, it announced Sept. 26.
- Flume Health, a health-plan-as-a-service platform, will help Harligen, Texas-based direct primary care provider Frontier Direct Care launch its own health plan, according to a Sept. 15 news release.
- Centene subsidiary Superior HealthPlan was awarded a six-year contract to continue providing care for foster care youth in Texas, per a Sept. 15 news release.
- BlueCross BlueShield of Montana was awarded a three-year contract to administer the state's employee health plan for 28,000 people, Becker's reported Sept. 16.
- CareSource is partnering with Houston-based Legacy Community Health with plans to participate in the procurement process for Medicaid contracts in two counties, according to a Sept. 13 news release. The organization expects to hear if it has been awarded contracts from the state of Texas by late 2023 or early 2024.
- Molina Healthcare will add 1.4 million enrollees by winning state Medicaid contracts, mostly at Centene subsidiary HealthNet's expense, the Los Angeles Business Journal reported Sept. 12.
- Health Partners Plans is expanding its Medicare Advantage coverage into Gloucester County, N.J., The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Sept. 12.
- Highmark Blue Shield will become the new health benefits provider for the 39,000 people employed by Pennsylvania State University starting next year, the Daily Collegian reported Sept. 7. The university dropped Aetna, who had administered its health benefits for the last five years.
