Nebraska picks 3 for Medicaid contracts

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services has selected three health plans to administer its Medicaid managed care program.

The department selected Molina Healthcare of Nebraska, Centene subsidiary Nebraska Total Care and UnitedHealthcare of the Midlands, according to a Sept. 23 news release.

Nebraska Medicaid will work with the selected plans on a transition to the new contracts, which begin Jan. 1, 2024, according to the news release. The contracts are for five years, with two-year optional renewals.

Five plans submitted bids for the contracts, according to the release.
