8 payer executive moves

The following healthcare payer executive moves have been reported by Becker’s in the last month:

1. CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield named A. Tonya Odom as director of diversity, equity and inclusion; she will be tasked with leading strategies to recruit, develop and retain a diverse workforce.

2. Meghan Joyce, who serves as the COO of Oscar Health and executive vice president of the +Oscar platform, is resigning April 10. 

3. Joseph Sobel, MD, was named chief medical officer for Cigna’s Medicare business after joining the company a month ago.

4. Clover Health named Conrad Wai as the payer’s chief technology officer.

5. Simeon Schindelman, Bright HealthCare’s CEO, is stepping down from his role effective March 11.

6. Corey Ewing was named CEO of WellCare of Kentucky, a Centene subsidiary.

7. John Murabito, Cigna’s 19-year chief human resources officer and chief administrative officer, is retiring April 1.

8. UnitedHealth Group named Patricia Lewis as the company’s first chief sustainability officer, according to an announcement shared with Becker’s.
