In August, New Mexico awarded Medicaid managed care contracts to Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico, Presbyterian Health Plan, UnitedHealthcare and Molina Healthcare, with an implementation date of July 1, 2024.

UnitedHealthcare’s New Mexico President and CEO, Drew Peterson told ABF that community health roles, care coordinators and RN care coordinators are being sought, with about 40 positions available in each area.

“During our RFP process, we were very passionate about looking at the state as a whole,” Mr. Peterson told the outlet. “We want to hire people in the rural areas, have them based in the rural areas, so that they can be a member of their community.”

All new employees will work remote but may make house visits when needed, according to the report.
