According to an April 20 news release, Express Scripts is upping reimbursements for independent pharmacies that are the only pharmacy within 10 miles of an Express Scripts customer.

The PBM will also cover certain routine and preventive care services at independent pharmacies.

In 2022, nearly 15,000 independent pharmacies went out of network with Express Scripts’ Tricare network over lower proposed reimbursement rates.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 2–3 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
