Cigna will offer discounted access to meal kit service HelloFresh to employers.
Cigna Healthcare's employer clients can choose from different HelloFresh offerings for employees, which may include gift cards to the service, one-time meal deliveries and discounted subscriptions, according to a Feb. 13 news release from the insurer.
"This partnership emphasizes the important role that home cooking plays in supporting consumers' overall health and well-being," Adam Kalikow, senior vice president and managing director of meal kits at HelloFresh, said in the release.
HelloFresh offerings will be available to up to 12 million customers who receive employer-sponsored insurance through Cigna, according to the release.
Insurers have moved to incorporate nutrition as part of their offerings. In November, grocery delivery platform Instacart announced it would accept payments from health-savings accounts. Several Medicare Advantage plans have added co-branded partnerships with grocery stores, and Elevance Health named its first food as medicine director in June.
