6 recent payer partnerships

From payers diving deeper in social determinants of health to expanded payer-provider models, these are six payer partnerships reported by Becker's since Dec. 15:

Aetna and SimpliFed said Jan. 31 that the infant nutrition- and parent support-focused telehealth platform is now in network for the payer's commercial members, including federal employees, and full, partial and self-funded plans.

Tufts Health Plan and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care said Jan. 18 that they've partnered with virtual care company Included Health to give commercial members access to its LGBTQ health services. Included also partnered with SCAN Group in October to launch the nation's first Medicare Advantage plan designed specifically for LGBTQ seniors.

CareFirst BCBS and Live Chair Health said Jan. 9 they are partnering on healthcare access for Medicaid members, focusing particularly on closing social determinants of health gaps in Baltimore and other parts of Maryland. Live Chair was founded in 2020 and looks to reach underserved communities through salons, barbershops and other community organizations.

SelectHealth said Jan. 5 it is expanding to Colorado in 2024 as part of a new partnership between Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare and Aurora, Colo.-based UCHealth.
The two systems said they plan to form a clinically integrated network, bringing together more than 700 physicians. The combined venture plans to offer Medicare Advantage and ACA Exchange plans in Colorado in 2024, pending regulatory approval.

BCBS Idaho and Healthy.io partnered Dec. 20 to provide BCBS employees and Medicare Advantage members with kidney damage testing kits. Healthy.io offers in-home urinalysis and digitized care services using a smartphone camera.

Superior HealthPlan, a Centene subsidiary Medicaid-managed care plan in Texas, said Dec. 15 it has partnered with mobile in-home care provider MedArrive to serve 40,000 Medicare beneficiaries.
