From heading back to the office after a two-year hiatus to major expansions of company headquarters, here are five office moves by payers this month:
UnitedHealthcare expands headquarters: The Minnetonka, Minn.-based payer purchased a 34,000-square-foot office building for $2.85 million and a $3 million building in the Opus Business Park.
BCBS Illinois parent company downsizes: Health Care Service Corp. slashed 25 percent of its office space as it embraces hybrid work schedules. The Chicago-based company will move within suburban Downers Grove from a 177,000-square-foot space to a 133,000-square-foot building.
Humana sends thousands of employees back to the office: The payer sent thousands of employees back to its Louisville, Ky., headquarters March 16 after a two-year hiatus.
Bright Health lays off 5 percent of its workforce: The Bloomington, Minn.-based payer announced it would lay off 150 employees to improve operational efficiencies following reported losses over the past year despite membership growth.
Roundstone Insurance plans major growth: The Lakewood, Ohio-based payer announced the construction of a $16.5 million, 65,000-square-foot headquarters in suburban Cleveland. The 100-person company aims to double in size over the next five years.
