Humana tapped Shantanu Nundy, MD, to serve as the company’s chief medical officer, effective Aug. 31.
According to an Aug. 20 news release, Dr. Nundy will inform the company’s AI use, products and platforms. He will report to Humana President and CEO Jim Rechtin, serving on the company’s enterprise leadership team.
“I am confident Shantanu’s experience at the intersection of clinical outcomes, technology and the consumer experience will advance our efforts to simplify the path to care and help the people we serve achieve their best health,” Mr. Rechtin said.
Dr. Nundy is a practicing physician, and he most recently was executive vice president of care delivery and chief health officer at Accolade, a healthcare navigation company. He had also been Evolent Health’s managing director for clinical innovation. Dr. Nundy has experience advising organizations, such as the FDA and World Bank, on digital health and AI, as well.
