Centene names next CEO of markets and Medicaid

Centene has named Nathan Landsbaum as its next CEO of markets and Medicaid.

Mr. Landsbaum is the CEO of Sunshine Health, Centene’s Florida Medicaid subsidiary. 

Dave Thomas, the company’s current CEO of markets and Medicaid, will leave Centene in December, according to regulatory documents filed July 26. 

Mr. Thomas is among the company’s highest paid executives, earning $6.2 million in total compensation in 2023. He spent 25 years at Centene, according to regulatory documents. 

Mr. Thomas was named CEO of markets and Medicaid in 2022. 

Mr. Landsbaum has more than 18 years of experience at Centene, CEO Sarah London said on a July 26 earnings call. He will assume the CEO of markets and Medicaid role later this year, she said.
