Kurt Small, the president and CEO of CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, has joined the board of directors for America’s Health Insurance Plans, according to October LinkedIn posts.
Mr. Small has nearly three decades of experience spanning commercial, Medicare and Medicaid markets, AHIP said. Mr. Small began leading CareFirst in May. He previously served as Elevance Health’s Medicaid president, and he held executive positions at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, Highmark and Aetna.
Mr. Small said he is honored to join the board and “work alongside leaders committed to making healthcare more affordable, accessible, and better for the people and communities we serve.”
