At the company’s 2023 investor conference on Nov. 29, Mr. Witty said the company received 3.9 million applications in 2023 and cut voluntary attrition by a third.

“People want to stay longer, and more and more people want to come and join this company,” Mr. Witty said. “The reason for that, I think, is that they’re inspired by the mission of the organization.”

UnitedHealth Group has more than 440,000 employees.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 17–19 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
