UnitedHealth’s Optum is laying off 572 workers throughout New Jersey, with some cuts effective as early as Feb. 2, 2026, according to four October WARN notices.

Optum Care will let 370 people go, but Optum Medical Care, Optum Services and Optum Select Management also reported upcoming layoffs spanning February and March.

The company also laid off 231 employees in the state earlier this year.

Editor’s note: Becker’s contacted Optum for a statement and will update this story as new information is released.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 2–3 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
