Humana has been working to consolidate its headquarters since last year. The company decided to leave the 27-story, 651,000 square foot building as it evolved to offer more flexible workstyles, the company previously said.

“While the opportunity to have our Louisville-based employees all together in one location is exciting, the decision to exit Humana Tower was not easy. Serving as our flagship location since it was built in 1985, the Tower is an iconic part of the Louisville skyline and the site of many of the company’s historic accomplishments,” a spokesperson said.

Humana has around 10,000 employees in the Louisville area, the spokesperson said, and around 25% work from the company’s offices on any given day. The company will fully exit the tower by the end of 2025.

“Following the consolidation of our campus footprint, Humana will remain a strong anchor for the downtown Louisville business community, with our company and our employees providing a positive economic impact for the city,” the spokesperson said. “The Waterside and Clocktower buildings offer our employees modern facilities and amenities that are well-suited to their workstyles. We look forward to seeing our employees thrive with the high energy and creative opportunities of a centralized campus.”
