Elevance will lay off 59 employees at Anthem Blue Cross in Woodland Hills, and 64 employees at a Carelon office in Cerritos. Becker’s has reached out to Elevance and will update this article if more information becomes available.

Last October, CEO Gail Boudreaux said the company took about $700 million in charges due to workforce adjustments and technology asset write-offs during a strategic review. Since then, the company has laid off 90 employees at a facility in Dearborn, Mich., 87 other employees in Woodland Hills, and 57 workers in Mendota Heights, Minn.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 2–3 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
