Molina Healthcare adds 24/7 crisis telehealth line

Molina Healthcare is establishing a 24-hour mental health crisis hotline in Florida.

According to a Feb. 8 news release, the hotline is the first 24-hour crisis line in the state. Molina is partnering with behavioral health nonprofit Impower to administer the hotline.

The hotline is especially important for rural residents, the company said in the release, who may not be able to access crisis services because of transportation barriers.

"Mental health crises can happen at any moment and it's critical to have qualified professionals available to help in real time," Mike Jones, plan president of Molina Healthcare of Florida, said in the release.

"This service will ensure the safety and well-being of plan members and their families by linking them directly with a mental health clinician at their times of greatest need," he continued.
