Two companies earned the “best overall” recognition in U.S. News & World Report‘s 2026 ratings for Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage. Both were among the top four last year.
This year’s scores rely on CMS star ratings, as well as 37 CMS quality measures chosen by two research experts and the publication’s news team. U.S. News outlined its full methodology here.
Along with the overall top carriers for Part D coverage, U.S. News determined the best companies for satisfaction and broke down the top performers in each state.
Here are the best carriers overall and how they scored on U.S. News’ five-star rating system:
- Centene Corp. — 3.4
- Humana — 3.2
