With $25M raised, digital insurer League plans to expand in Seattle, beyond

Toronto-based digital health insurance provider League aims to expand in Seattle and North America after receiving $25 million in its first round of investor funding, GeekWire reported.

Cofounder Todd Humphrey, who heads League's Seattle headquarters, said funding will allow expansion in the city and the U.S.

"We are excited to close our [first funding] round, with such an outstanding group of investors," Humphrey told GeekWire. "We are poised to disrupt the health benefits and insurance market, like it never has been, with Seattle continuing to be a key piece to our U.S. strategy."

League describes itself as a digital alternative to traditional payers.
