Where to find the most Medicare Advantage 5-star options? Try New York or Ohio

CMS awarded fewer Medicare Advantage plans with five-star ratings for 2023 than in 2022. A total of 57 Medicare Advantage plans were granted top ratings this year, and residents of New York and Ohio have the most options to choose from. According to enrollment data from CMS, 12 top-rated plans included enrollees from these states in 2022. 

Data is taken from CMS rankings and Oct. 2022 enrollment data. Some plans are listed as available in all 50 states — Becker's included these plans only with states where there were plan enrollees as of October 2022.
