The Concord, Calif.-based Sutter Health and Aetna joint health plan announced it will offer fully insured products to Northern California employers in the 2022 enrollment season, a May 12 news release said.
The announcement came after the company received a Certificate of Authority from the California Department of Insurance, making it an independent insurance carrier in the state.
Prior to CDI approval, employers in the region had to select an Aetna plan that included the Sutter Health and Aetna performance network to receive full coverage, the statement said.
Sutter Health and Aetna announced they were launching a joint health plan in 2017.
