Sutter Health and SCAN Group are collaborating on new Medicare Advantage products in Northern California for 2026 and will launch a new joint venture MA plan in the near future.

Sacramento-based Sutter and Long Beach-based SCAN aim to develop new care models that integrate technology, preventive health strategies, and comprehensive chronic disease management programs to support Medicare-eligible patients, according to an April 10 news release.

During the upcoming annual enrollment period, Medicare-eligible individuals in certain Northern California counties will be able to enroll in SCAN MA plans that provide access to Sutter’s care network. Enrollees will have a Sutter primary care clinician and access to the health system’s chronic disease management and digital health services.

Eventually, Sutter and SCAN also intend to launch a shared MA health plan that may extend beyond Northern California.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 2–3 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
