Here are four insurers’ 2017 Medicare Advantage offerings.
1. Pittsburgh-based Highmark will offer nine Medicare Advantage plans next year. The plans will have no or minimal premium increases and include dental, vision and hearing aid coverage with no deductible. All plans have a yearly out-of-pocket maximum of $6,700, according to the report. The insurer has 182,877 members in western Pennsylvania.
2. Pittsburgh-based UPMC Health Plan will provide four health maintenance organization plans and two preferred provider organization plans next year. All plans will be in network with UPMC facilities and physicians and most community hospitals. All HMO policyholders will have in network coverage when traveling to Florida. UPMC Health Plan has 121,000 members, according to the report.
3. Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealthcare will offer three HMO plans in western Pennsylvania. Monthly premiums will range from $16 to $86. UnitedHealthcare has 8,500 members in western Pennsylvania.
4. Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna and its subsidiary Conventry have not provided Medicare Advantage plan information at this time, according to the report. The insurers have 83,500 Medicare Advantage members in western Pennsylvania.
