Health insurer Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska said it will leave the state's Affordable Care Act exchange effective Jan. 1, citing instability and decreased competition under the health law.

The Idaho Department of Insurance released premium rate increases for 2017 for individual and small group health plans, with individual plans offered through the state's Affordable Care Act exchange increasing an average of 24 percent.

Dave Jones, California's insurance commissioner, said he supports a state-level public option to increase health insurance competition as big insurers leave Affordable Care Act marketplaces, California Healthline reports.

Health insurer Anthem Blue Cross will administer its self-funded preferred provider plans to University of California faculty, staff and retirees at all the University of California's campuses and medical centers.

Zoom+ has withdrawn individual and group plans from Portland, Ore.'s,  Affordable Care Act exchange for next year, reports Portland Business Journal.
