“We resolved our outstanding issues yesterday, which is when the agreement was finalized,” an OptumRx spokesperson told the news outlet in an Oct. 28 email.
The spokesperson did not specify what the issues were, according to the report.
The agreement comes after the Ohio Attorney General’s Office said in an Oct. 25 news release the pharmacy benefit manager had agreed to pay that sum to settle allegations it overcharged the state’s Bureau of Workers Compensation $15.8 million from 2015 to 2018. However, an Optum spokesperson told the news outlet a final agreement with the attorney general’s office had not been reached and that the company continued to dispute the allegations.
The Ohio Capital Journal reported that after Optum denied a settlement had been finalized, an attorney general’s office spokesperson on Oct. 28 provided the news outlet with a copy of the settlement signed by Optum’s senior associate general counsel.
