The 2018 survey, based on responses from 781 Medicare Advantage beneficiaries, found only 17 percent of respondents had a price estimator that could help them estimate the cost for a health service, such as imaging, a test, a procedure or surgery. Fifteen percent of survey respondents said they had a tool that could predict provider visit costs.

The plurality of respondents — 69 percent — said their Medicare Advantage plan doesn’t offer them a price estimator, according to the survey.
