SCAN Health Plan is expanding into Oregon through a partnership with The Springs Living, an independent-living, assisted-living and memory care provider for older adults.
The expansion brings the Medicare Advantage insurer into Oregon’s Clackamas and Washington counties. SCAN and The Springs Living will also launch co-branded products available Jan. 1.
“The future of healthcare for older adults should not be defined by the walls of a doctor’s office. It should be connected to where and how people live every day,” SCAN Group and SCAN Health Plan CEO Sachin Jain, MD, said in a Sept. 23 news release. “This partnership brings that vision to life by more closely connecting healthcare with the support our members receive in their communities, creating a more coordinated experience that helps them live healthier, more independent lives.”
While discussing preventable emergency department visits, Fee Stubblefield, founder and CEO of The Springs Living, said the collaboration “will disrupt that failed system for older adults by bringing healthcare to where people live.”
The partnership will start with the Portland metropolitan area’s living communities. The Springs Living also has locations in Washington and Montana.
This collaboration is the latest addition to SCAN’s line of co-branded MA products. In recent weeks, SCAN has announced partnerships with Walmart and Costco, as well.
SCAN currently operates in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas and Washington, serving nearly 460,000 members.
