NYC Health + Hospitals now in-network for Empire BCBS Medicaid patients

New York City-based NYC Health + Hospitals joined Empire BlueCross BlueShield HealthPlus' Medicaid managed care network through a new contract.

Under the agreement, HealthPlus managed care Medicaid members gained access to NYC Health + Hospitals' 70 patient care locations May 1. NYC Health + Hospitals is the country's largest public health system and treats nearly 1 million patients each year.

Empire BlueCross BlueShield, HealthPlus' affiliate, also renewed its agreement with NYC Health + Hospitals. The renewal will maintain Empire commercial and Medicare Advantage members' access to NYC Health + Hospitals providers.

Empire members with employer-based plans and individual marketplace policies will also retain in-network coverage under the contract.
