Meet Centene's office of the CEO

Centene announced April 26 that it's updating its leadership structure. Here's a closer look at Centene's new office of the CEO:

Sarah London, CEO: Ms. London was named CEO in March. She joined Centene in 2020. Her previous roles in the company include vice chairman and senior vice president of technology innovation and modernization. Ms. London was a partner at Optum Ventures before joining Centene. 

Brent Layton, president and COO: Mr. Layton has been with Centene since 2006. He has overseen the development and implementation of new health plans in 19 states and provided guidance to state governments to develop Medicaid solutions. Prior to joining Centene, Mr. Layton ran a managed care consulting firm and created and managed healthcare companies. 

Drew Asher, CFO: Mr. Asher has served as Centene's CFO since 2021. He joined the company in January 2020 after it acquired WellCare, where he served as an executive vice president. 

Jim Murray, chief transformation officer: Mr. Murray was appointed chief transformation officer in January, when he joined the company after the acquisition of Magellan Health. Mr. Murray served as Magellan's president and COO. 

Ken Fasola, Magellan Health CEO: Mr. Fasola joined Centene in January with the acquisition of Magellan Health. He has served as Magellan's CEO since November 2019. Prior to joining Magellan, Mr. Fasola was president and CEO of HealthMarkets Inc., a health insurance agency that was acquired in 2019 by UnitedHealth Group.
