Humana bumps Medicare Advantage outlook by 150K members

Humana is projecting to add at least 775,000 new Medicare Advantage members in 2023.

According to Feb. 23 regulatory filings, the company is upping its outlook from its last prediction of 625,000 because of higher than anticipated sale volumes and retention.

The boost comes as the company plans to end its commercial insurance business to focus on government-funded contracts.

The Louisville, Ky.-based payer had 5.1 million Medicare Advantage members at the end of 2022, and less than 1 million commercial members, according to its fourth-quarter earnings report.
