Georgia has named Cheryl Gardner as the director of the state's newly-created ACA exchange, Georgia Access.
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed legislation establishing a state-based ACA exchange May 2. The proposal is pending approval from CMS.
According to a May 22 news release, Ms. Gardner was previously CEO of New Mexico's state-run exchange, executive director of Arkansas' health insurance marketplace and director of policy and strategy for the Utah health exchange.
"Georgia has proven it is on the cutting edge of healthcare reform and I'm proud to bring my unique background in overseeing and advising healthcare exchanges across the country to Georgia Access," Ms. Gardner said in the release.
