Elevance Health in the headlines: 9 recent updates

Elevance Health is divesting parts of its business and acquiring new subsidiaries.

Here are nine updates about Elevance Health and its Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield subsidiaries that Becker's has reported since February 22:

1. Elevance Health CEO Gail Boudreaux received $20.9 million in total compensation in 2022. Here are the company's top paid employees. 

2. Anthem BCBS Ohio and the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati reached a new contract agreement one day before the two sides were set to go out of network. 

3. The Standard, a disability and life insurance provider, will acquire Elevance Health's disability, accidental death and dismemberment, absence management and paid family leave business.

9. Anthem BCBS Virginia avoided going out of network with Fredericksburg-based Mary Washington Healthcare as the sides were able to reach a new contract ahead of the March 1 split date.
