This is the second round of funding in CMS’ three-year funding cycle for “navigators,” or individuals trained to assist consumers, small businesses and employees navigate the health insurance marketplace. Ninety-six returning and two new organizations received grants, which will be released in 12-month increments based on performance assessments.
“We are committed to making sure consumers have all the resources they need to find the right plan when open enrollment begins Nov. 1,” said Kevin Counihan, CEO of HealthCare.gov. “We know in-person assistance is critical to connecting individuals and families with quality, affordable health coverage that best meets their needs.”
