Clover Health nearly doubled revenue in 2021's second quarter, but simultaneously saw a significant dip in net income, according to an earnings report released Aug. 11.

1. The startup flaunted $412.5 million in revenue this quarter — a 140 percent increase over its 2020 second-quarter numbers.
2. Total year-end revenue is projected to hit $1.4 billion to 1.5 billion.
3. However, Clover Health reported $317.6 million in lost income. The insurer attributed $134.5 million of that to value changes among placement warrants.
4. Clover Health's revenue is near-evenly split between Medicare Advantage plans ($195 million) and direct contracting ($216 million).
5. Similarly, Clover saw a 126 percent increase in membership, swelling to 129,000 beneficiaries near-evenly split between Medicare Advantage and direct contracting coverage.
6. Clover Assistant also saw growth, with 229 percent year-over-year development for a total of 95,000 people.
