Cigna launching new international plan for older adults

Cigna Healthcare is launching a new international health benefits plan, designed for “globally mobile” older adults.

According to a Sept. 5 news release, the Cigna Healthcare Global Plan for Seniors is designed for people 60 and older, with no upper age limit. The market for international health plans aimed at older adults is expected to reach 450,000 people by 2025, according to the news release. 

“This health plan is customized for globally mobile seniors, it is affordable, and packed with health and well-being benefits to help people enjoy life wherever it takes them,” Ross Walker, chief commercial officer of Cigna global individual health, said in the release. 

Cigna has 1.6 million international members, according to its second-quarter earnings report.
