Cigna in the headlines: 9 recent developments

From adding Humira biosimilars to its pharmacy formulary to Evernorth becoming a minority owner in VillageMD, here are nine stories about Cigna that Becker's has reported since Nov. 9: 

1. Cigna is adding Humira biosimilars to its pharmacy formulary, giving the new, cheaper alternative products hitting the market next year the same position as the drug. 

2. Cigna's behavioral health network has grown to more than 250,000 providers through Evernorth.

3. Phoenix Children's Hospital will go out of network with Cigna if the sides are unable to reach a new contract by Feb. 1. 

4. Cameron (Mo.) Regional Medical Center will go out of network with Cigna Medicare Advantage plans Dec. 31. 

5. Ninety-three percent of Cigna's Medicare Advantage enrollees have over-the-counter benefits — the second highest rate among large payers — according to analysis from the Kaiser Family Foundation.
