CareFirst BCBS and Aledade are partnering on new care models by connecting the payer's network physicians with Aledade's tools and resources.
Aledade, the nation's largest network of independent primary care facilities, helps independent PCPs transition to value-based care models, according to a March 7 news release.
CareFirst's network of physician practices will gain access to Aledade's specialists, onsite business support, technology platform, and regulatory and policy expertise.
"Partnering with Aledade to bring their services to CareFirst providers is a crucial step toward building a prevention-based, whole-health approach to healthcare," Brian Pieninck, CareFirst's president and CEO, said.
Humana said in March it is partnering with Aledade for 10 years on value-based primary care for seniors, which includes a path to full-risk agreements. Elevance Health also partnered with the company in August.
