Fairview Health Services in Minneapolis is one of the state’s largest healthcare providers, consisting of six hospitals, 40 primary care clinics, 55 specialty clinics, 54 senior housing locations and 27 retail pharmacies.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield sent policyholders letters Monday warning the insurer could drop Fairview from its network if the organizations fail to reach an agreement by the end of the year.
“Discussions are ongoing and an agreement can be reached at any time,” Blue Cross said in a statement.
Fairview officials said the dispute stalled over negotiations for “the necessary reimbursement level to fund our mission and support exceptional patient care,” according to the article.
