Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska named Steven Grandfield CEO Thursday, the Omaha World-Herald reports.
Here are four things to know about the executive move.
1. Mr. Grandfield will succeed Steven Martin, who has helmed Nebraska's largest health insurer for 16 years. Mr. Martin will remain an adviser for Mr. Grandfield through the end of the year.
2. In an interview with Omaha World-Herald, Mr. Grandfield said he isn't sure whether BCBS of Nebraska will begin selling policies on the ACA's federal exchanges again.
3. "We can't make promises because we don't know what the rules are going to be," Mr. Grandfield said. BCBS of Nebraska exited the state's ACA exchange last year.
4. Mr. Grandfield joined BCBS of Nebraska in 2003.
