Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana appointed Monica Berner, MD, as president, according to 3 KRTV.
Here are three things to know about Dr. Berner.
1. Dr. Berner joined BCBS nine years ago. She most recently served as CMO and medical director.
2. Prior to joining BCBS, Dr. Berner worked at Lewis & Clark County's community health center in Helena, Mont. She also previously served as a physician at VA Medical Center-Fort Harrison (Mont.), according to the report.
3. Dr. Berner will replace Mike Frank, who will become senior vice president of Tri-State Plans for BCBS' parent organization, Health Care Service Corp.
