BCBS of Kansas City CEO to retire: 3 things to know

Danette Wilson, president and CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, is retiring after more than 30 years with the company, the health insurer said Jan. 10.

Three things to know:

1. Ms. Wilson’s retirement is effective May 31 and comes after she spent nearly five years as Blue KC’s top executive.

2. Erin Stucky, the health insurer’s executive vice president for market innovation and business development, will succeed Ms. Wilson effective June 1.

3. The Blue KC board of directors selected Ms. Stucky to succeed Ms. Wilson and is working with the two women on a transition plan.
