Anthem Blue Cross of California expands behavioral network: 5 things to know

Anthem Blue Cross of California has expanded its behavioral health network by 10,000 providers in the past two years. 

The insurer has grown its behavioral health offerings by 90% since 2020, according to a May 27 news release shared with Becker’s. 

Here are five things to know: 

  1. The company has added partnerships with Rula, Headway and Octave, platforms that help connect individuals with in-network mental health providers. 

  2. Anthem has expanded its Headway partnership, which now includes more than 9,000 providers in California. Headway offers members access to mental health appointments within 48 hours.

  3. Anthem members have access to more than 10,000 providers through Rula. 

  4. Octave offers a range of specialty mental health providers. In-network costs on the platform are typically under $30. 

  5. Anthem Blue Cross of California has more than 34,000 unique behavioral health providers in its network.
