On Nov. 5, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources announced Aetna Better Health will manage the system through a contract worth approximately $200 million. Aetna Better Health will manage the system of more than 7,000 foster children.
In a statement to MetroNews, Todd White, CEO of Aetna Better Health of West Virginia, said many parts of the contract include “activities we are well versed in; care coordination, case management, all those really vital aspects.”
The contract comes as West Virginia faces a class-action lawsuit over alleged mismanagement of the state’s foster care system, according to MetroNews.
