AmeriHealth Caritas is growing its marketplace presence in 2027, bringing plans to two more states — Indiana and Ohio — and expanding its reach in four others.

According to an Oct. 15 news release shared with Becker’s, marketplace plans will be available in seven central Indiana counties and Ohio’s six largest metropolitan areas. AmeriHealth Caritas will also have new service areas in some states it currently covers: Florida, Louisiana, South Carolina and North Carolina. Including Delaware, AmeriHealth Caritas will have marketplace coverage in seven states and 135 counties following the expansion, which will add 60 counties.

In some markets, the insurer is working with large regional health systems to build plans.

“As we continue to grow our marketplace business, we’re partnering with respected health systems that are deeply rooted in the communities they serve. These partnerships strengthen our commitment to local markets while giving consumers more coverage choices and access to coordinated care throughout their healthcare journey,” said Andy Marino, AmeriHealth Caritas’ senior vice president of Medicare, exchange and provider network.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 2–3 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
