7 recent payer rebrands

These are seven health insurance industry rebrands that have taken place since Jan. 1:

  1. Elevance Health subsidiary UniCare began rebranding to Wellpoint in February. The company provides health coverage to public sector employees in Massachusetts.

  2. Bright Health Group rebranded as NeueHealth and relocated its corporate headquarters from Minneapolis to Doral, Fla. 

  3. Health Care Service Corp. rebranded Trustmark Health Benefits to Luminare Health. The third-party administrator for self-funded employers was purchased by HCSC in October 2022.

  4. Prominence Health Plan, a subsidiary of King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services, rebranded to Prominence Health. 

  5. CareMore Health, an Elevance Health subsidiary, rebranded as Carelon Health in January. 

  6. Health Partners Plans rebranded as Jefferson Health Plans, beginning with its Medicare plans in 2024. Philadelphia-based Jefferson Health acquired Health Partners Plans in 2021. 

  7. Elevance Health rebranded its Amerigroup subsidiary to Wellpoint in Arizona, Iowa, New Jersey, Tennessee, Texas and Washington in January.
